Shadows Fall drummer to quit band

After five years, seven tours and two full-length records, David "The Knife" Germain, drummer and founding member of Shadows Fall, has announced that he will perform for the last time with the band at Candiria's record release show at L'Amours (Brooklyn, NY) on May 4th. Citing artistic differences, Germain informed the band of his decision to leave shortly after playing in front of a packed house at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. "The Knife has always been an integral part of this band through his playing and personality," said guitarist Matthew Bachand. "We've been friends with him for years and, while we won't be collaborating with him for Shadows Fall after the show on May 4th, our friendship will certainly continue. We all wish him all the best with his future endeavors, musical and otherwise."Shadows Fall has requested that anyone interested in trying out for the soon-to-be-vacant drummer position please contact their manager, Reverend David J. Ciancio, at therev@thesyn.com.
