Kublai Khan guitarist Nolan Ashley quits band

Kublai Khan

Kublai Khan TX guitarist Nolan Ashley has announced his departure from the band after thirteen years. He has noticeably not toured with them for a few years, and revealed that this is due to long-term health issues rendering him unable to play guitar. The band has announced Nicholas Adams from Justice For the Damned as his replacement.

His full statement:

After 13 incredible years, it's with a heavy heart that I announce my departure from Kublai Khan TX. Matt, Eric, and Isaac are my family, and every moment spent with you all has been a cherished memory. I wouldn't trade any of it for the world.

In 2023, with the incredible support of my band, my family, and everyone who offered kind words or a dime to help, I was able to undergo the surgery my doctors had long recommended. Since my disc replacement surgery and the extensive physical therapy that followed, I've faced challenges I never anticipated. Unfortunately, my grip strength hasn't returned, and I can no longer play the songs I helped write live. It's a difficult goodbye-not the one I ever imagined for myself-but I know this is the right decision.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my amazing life partner and my beautiful daughters for their unwavering support throughout this journey.

It hasn't been easy, and your love means everything to me.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and Kublai Khan TX through the years. You'll never fully understand what a dream it's been and how deeply grateful I am.

Be seein' ya,

Nolan
