Metal Blade Records signs The Absence

Metal Blade Records has officially signed melodic metal outfit The Absence to a worldwide deal. The Tampa, Florida group has previously self-released an EP and will enter the studio with Erik Rutan (Soilent Green) on April 10th to record their debut full-length. The album should hit stores this fall. Here's a statement from Metal Blade president Mike Faley regarding the deal: "It is a pleasure to add The Absence to the Metal Blade Records roster. Their aggressive form of metal is fresh and heavy. They must put something in that Florida water, because they follow in the footsteps of SFU, Cannibal Corpse, and our young band Into the Moat in presenting a fresh new sound to metal."
