Carnal Forge bassist Lars Lindén launch GoFundMe: "Can YOU help me? Swedish care has given up."
Lars Lindén, bassist of Carnal Forge and more, is seeking financial support in his ongoing fight against cancer. Diagnosed in April 2023 with colon cancer that spread to his liver, Lindén has endured multiple surgeries and 27 rounds of chemotherapy under the Swedish healthcare system.
Unfortunately, doctors have now given him a grim prognosis of "a few weeks to months left to live." In response, Lindén is turning to alternative treatments not covered by his current healthcare and has launched a fundraiser to help cover the costs.
Lindén shared the following on the 24th:
The rumor of my death is greatly exaggerated". And the fact that I would have died on Anna's birthday… No then, even though the oncology reception in Region Västmanland has given up and left me to die, I have not given up. But I'm feeling pretty rough..
I have been given the prognosis "a few weeks to months left to live". They say they have no treatments left they can offer me. Karolinska has no studies I can participate in and a liver transplant is not current in my case as it seems now. It suddenly becomes another game plan. So now I have to cure myself…
To grab things like dust cleaning, filling in the white archive and choosing music for my funeral feels pretty absurd. But must also be done to make it easier. Directing your own death. Are you allowed to have smoke and firecrackers in the church?
Otherwise I am fine but feeling stressed and sad.
