Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance to Elon Musk defenders: "Your true colors are shining through"

Frank Iero Elon Musk

Elon Musk has found himself at the center of national attention after yesterday's U.S. Presidential inauguration following a gesture he made during a speech at Donald Trump's inauguration celebration.

During the rally at a packed Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., Musk addressed the crowd, then placed his right hand over his heart before extending the same arm straight out in front of him. He repeated the motion for attendees seated behind him while declaring: "My heart goes out to you. It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured."

Many reactions in the news and on X, the social media platform Musk owns, compared his gesture to a Nazi salute. Opinions varied, with many supporting that view, while others looked to defend Musk dismissing it as harmless and a product of media bias.

Frank Iero guitarist of My Chemical Romance and L.S. Dunes didn't hold back on his opinion on Tuesday, January 21st, posting an image from a newscast and comment that read:

Fuck this guy and every single person supporting this shit or wasting any kind of breath attempting to defend it. Your true colors are shining through. #SmashHate

In response to the backlash, Musk dismissed the allegations on X, stating, "Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The 'everyone is Hitler' attack is sooo tired," while later railing against Wikipedia over its presentation of the events. This ultimately prompted a response from Jimmy Wales, the site's founder, who said, "I think Elon is unhappy that Wikipedia is not for sale."
