Primer 55/Soufly guitarist/vocalist Bobby Burns is suffering from Alcoholic Liver Failure

Bobby Burns, co-founder of the now-defunct nü-metal outfit Primer 55, has shared a concerning update regarding his health. Burns, who initially served as guitarist for Primer 55 before transitioning to lead vocals during their later years, revealed his struggles in a recent social media post.

Burns shared the following:

So… as many of yall know by now I've been in and out of the hospitals for the past…. Over a year at this point. Early last year I hadn't been feeling well and this and that having pains in weird places etc. So I ended up unwillingly going to the ER. Test after test, x ray after x ray a few drs come in my room and say down and told me that I had alcoholic liver failure, cirrhosis and acidosis. Shockin at first because I used to have this thought that I would never die and made of steel lol.

I felt now the time was right at least to let everyone know what's been goin on and supporting me with words of encouragement. I appreciate it no end. With all that bullshit being said. I don't regret a single decision I've ever made on my life even if it was a big mistake and I'm not scared. I did all of this to myself by myself and enjoyed every moment! Not lookin for pity in anyway.

I've lost a lot of brothers and sisters along the way from the same thing and trust me it's far from glamorous. Welp. There ya have it folks! Yall can stop wondering now! FAMILY FOR LIFE. ALWAYS CARRY THE FLAG FOR THE FAMILY

Primer 55 disbanded in 2015, but Burns remained active in the music scene, including a seven-year tenure as bassist and backing vocalist for Soulfly. More recently, he launched the project Murder The Flesh.

Primer 55's legacy has been marred by tragedy in recent years, with co-founding vocalist Jason "J-Sin" Luttrell passing away in 2018 after a prolonged battle with Hepatitis C.
