Brujeria frontman and founding member Juan Brujo has passed away at 57
News on the death of Juan Brujo, frontman and leader of Mexican grindcore outfit Brujeria, was shared by the band today, Wednesday, September 18th.
The 57-year-old musician passed away after suffering a heart attack following a day off from the band's 'Mexorcista' tour in Saint Clairsville, Ohio after which the band announced the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates due to a "serious medical emergency".
Despite being rushed to the nearest hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia, he succumbed this morning despite the medical teams' best efforts. His family, friends, and bandmates intend to mourn in private and have expressed their gratitude for the support from fans.
The tragic news comes just months after the recent passing of the group's vocalist and sampler, Ciriaco "Pinche Peach" Quezada, who died in June from significant heart complications as well. The loss of such key members deals a heavy blow to Brujeria, it remains to be seen what the band's plans are moving forward.

It is with deep sadness we have to announce that our leader Juan Brujo has passed away today.
Juan suffered a heart attack on early Monday morning, after a day off from the current 'Mexorcista' tour in Saint Clairsville, Ohio. He was rushed to the nearest hospital in Wheeling, West Viriginia by emergency services, but, despite the medical team's greatest efforts, he died this morning.
His family, friends and bandmates are devastated and wish to mourn in private, while they appreciate the fans' love and support.
