Perry Farrell releases statement following Jane's Addiction tour cancellation & hiatus announcement
Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell has released a personal statement addressing the events that transpired during the band's performance in Boston on September 13th. Farrell's aggressive behavior onstage, culminating in a physical confrontation with guitarist Dave Navarro, led to his removal from the stage by bandmates and crew, cutting the show short.
In the wake of the incident, the band canceled the remainder of their reunion tour, citing Farrell's "mental health difficulties" as the reason.
Farrell's statement comes after his bandmates issued their own earlier today, explaining the band's decision to cancel the tour.
The following was posted to Farrell's personal IG story:
This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday's show.
Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accoundtability for how I chose to handle the situation.
