Buñuel drop new single featuring Couch Slut's Megan Osztrosits called "Fixer"
Buñuel, the band comprised of former Oxbow vocalist Eugene S. Robinson along with guitarist Xabier Idiondo, bassist Andrea Lombardini, and drummer Franz Valente, have released a second single from their upcoming double album Mansuetude.
The band shared insights into the track, which follows a narrative inspired by the trajectory in "Breaking Bad" and draws from experiences related to a friend known as The Crystal Meth King of Oklahoma by the FBI.
Drummer Franz Valente explains:
Following a Breaking Bad trajectory and owing this account largely to a friend of his who had been called The Crystal Meth King of Oklahoma by the FBI, the FIXER follows a drug czar's Man Friday as he cleans up that which inevitably needs cleaning up when you're living a life of crime.
Featuring guest vocals from Megan Osztrosits of Couch Slut, the collaboration was an easy one:
When Eugene hit me up to ask if I wanted to do vocals for a track, I said yes without even hearing it. He rules and I am psyched for this absolute ripper of an album.
Their upcoming album, Mansuetude—their fourth release— also includes guest appearances from artists such as Converge's Jacob Bannon, The Jesus Lizard's Duane Denison, cellist Andrea Beninati, and alto saxophonist/vocalist David Binney. The album was produced by Timo Ellis, the leader of the band Netherlands.
