Linkin Park unveil new vocalist, new music, and tour

Linkin Park has made a major comeback with new music after a seven-year hiatus, following the tragic death of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017. 

The band members, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, Joe Hahn, have now added Emily Armstrong, from the band Dead Sara, as a co-vocalist as well as songwriter/producer Colin Brittain, who has worked with G Flip, Illenium, and One OK Rock, as their drummer.

Mike Shinoda elaborated:

The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we've made together. We're weaving together the sonic touchpoints we've been known for and still exploring new ones.

They have shared their first brand new music, titled "The Emptiness Machine," ahead of their upcoming album FROM ZERO, which is set to release on November 15th. This will be the band's first studio album since 2017's One More Light and will consist of 11 songs, with the full tracklisting listed below.

This was announced as part of a global livestream performance kicking off a series of upcoming arena shows as part of the From Zero World Tour in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota. The LPUnderground fan club will have exclusive pre-sales starting on September 6, with general on-sales beginning on September 7. More information can be found on LinkinPark.com. 

About the new era, Shinoda stated:

Before LINKIN PARK, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we're currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.
