Motörhead's Lemmy honored with bust containing his ashes at Bloodstock Festival

A bust containing the ashes of Lemmy, the late frontman of Motörhead, has been unveiled during this year's Bloodstock Festival at Catton Park, Derbyshire in the United Kingdom.

Alongside the memorial, various personal items such as his hat, coat, boots, photographs, Marmite, and Milky Way bars from the band's final 2015 tour are also on display for festival attendees to explore. The exhibit, intended as a tribute to Lemmy, is set to become a recurring feature at future editions of the event. 

In March, it was announced that Lemmy's ashes would be housed in several locations, including a venue in Nottingham called the Rock City, beginning with the bust's presentation at Bloodstock. 

Bloodstock festival director Vicky Hungerford shared:

We were humbled and honoured to be approached by Motörhead management to have Lemmy's ashes at Bloodstock.

Lemmy holds a very special place in everybody's heart, but to myself and my husband, he was the reason we met and fell in love. Nothing will mean more to us and the Bloodstock family than to honour his legacy and have Lemmy forever at Bloodstock.

Motörhead manager Todd Singerman expressed his gratitude., saying:

Bloodstock has always been a special place for Motörhead and for Lemmy. The people and the energy matched Lemmy's values perfectly. This is definitely a fitting honour in the continuing series of enshrinements of Lemmy's ashes in his most loved places.

The commemoration of Lemmy extends beyond Bloodstock, with various locations around the world hosting parts of his ashes, including the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood and the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. Last February, the approval to erect a statue of Lemmy in the town where he was born, Stoke-on-Trent, was confirmed as well.
