Simulakra announce new EP, release new single "Heathen's Prayer"

Since 2018, Simulakra has established the definitive framework for the contemporary sound of metallic hardcore. Following a demo and several singles, the band gained acclaim for their 2022 LP, The Infection Spreads, earning recognition from the heavy music press and securing tours alongside No Warning, Mindforce, and Vomit Forth. With their upcoming release, the Reincarnation EP, scheduled for March 15th on DAZE, Simulakra takes their intensity to new heights. The band unveils "Heathen's Prayer" today, a relentless single delving into the theme of turning to prayer in moments of desperation. Vocalist Dom Pabon delivers a crushing performance while the band unleashes dark, robust rhythms. Listen to the track here.

Boasting members from Gridiron, Foreign Hands, and Scarab, Simulakra's EP comes as no surprise, solidifying their reputation as a formidable force. Alongside Pabon, the lineup includes Xavier Wilson (guitar), Tyler Breza (drums), Jack Beatson (guitar), and Tyler Norris (bass). The band entered the studio with Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording in Fall 2023, leveraging their strengths to elevate each of the five tracks on Reincarnation. 

Pabon shared the following:

On 'The Infection Spreads', I was dealing with a lot of severe health issues. I wrote about my experience being sick for so long and I used it as a diary essentially to get out how I felt about myself and how I viewed the world. This time around, I had time to fully flesh out tracks, being able to write different themes for each song, and lyrics in a style to have them more open to interpretation. After I was done writing everything, I noticed an overarching tone of spirituality so I definitely wanted to add that in the artwork as well. The title 'Reincarnation' encapsulates this entire EP perfectly, as though I feel like this EP is a reincarnation of the band. It's us but at our purest, best form.

Those in the northeast can catch Simulakra playing shows with Incendiary and Scarab in New Jersey and Massachusetts this weekend, followed by a NYC date supporting Mindforce and Inclination on February 17th. The band will also perform at the DAZE preshow as part of LDBBB Fest in Louisville, KY on March 21st. More info below.
