RUN premiere new song "Spring" featuring The Amity Affliction's Joel Birch along with music video
Australian metalcore outfit RUN have debuted their new single, "Spring", featuring guest vocals from Joel Birch of The Amity Affliction.
Below is a statement from the band on the new single and what's to come in 2024:
'Spring' is the first page in the next chapter from blackened post-metalcore band RUN. It is a blast of bright-yet-brooding energy featuring guest vocals from Joel Birch of the Melbourne group's current tour mates, global titans The Amity Affliction. Also joined on said regional adventure by Alpha Wolf and Terminal Sleep, this moment marks the start of a triumphant new era for a band whose early days were marred by not only the pandemic, but vocalist and band leader Lochlan Watt being diagnosed with brain cancer midway through the recording of 2020 debut EP 'For You Will Never Find Peace Within Your Quiet'. While previously a studio collaboration, the 2023 single 'Everyone's Cancelled, Everything's Cancer' introduced a full lineup while spitting out the resentment from prior years to create a fresh slate - the track also saw the band go on to tour around the country with Deafheaven, Hexis, and Earth Caller. Now completed by fellow veteran musicians guitarists Lewis Noke-Edwards and Arron Parker Richards, drummer Adrian Horsman and bassist/vocalist Benn Gaylor, RUN sits upon a new bundle of self-produced, bittersweet crushers that shine bright thanks to the glorious mix of Forrester Savell (Karnivool). With a full chest, Spring's positive vibes and empowered spin on pushing through the struggles of life body slams down the door for more to follow in 2024.
