Gates To Hell spent a few days with Andy Nelson at Bricktop Studios

gates to hell in studio 23

It would appear that the Kentucky death metal/metalcore band Gates To Hell spent some time with Weekend Nacho guitarist and notable producer Andy Nelson at Bricktop Studios in Chicago, IL this past week. Whatever the group was working on should be released next month and the band classifies it as 'spicy'.

Gates To Hell released their debut self-titled album in September of 2022 through Maggot Stomp and spent a good chunk of 2023 touring, providing support for such acts as Dying Fetus, The Black Dahlia Murder, Chelsea Grin, Sanguisugabogg, Dying Wish, Kruelty, and much more.

The band shared the following via social media:

2023 is wrapping up, here's a few updates.

We just hit the studio for a few days with Andy from Bricktop. Dropping something spicy next month 😏 along with a massive announcement.

We got 2 shows left this year,

December 9th - Little Rock, AR for @bitrfest. If you aren't too far from Little Rock, the fest lineup is well worth the travel. Handful of legendary bands playing with a lot of great rising bands. Very excited to be returning.

December 17th - Cincinnati, OH for Cold Blood Fest. This one is a lot closer to home, originally the fest was to be in Lexington so I'm really hoping a lot of Kentuckians roll up to Cincy for this one. Regardless it's going to be an awesome time.

Gates to Hell will perform two more festival shows before closing out the year; 12/09 in Little Rock, AR at Banging In The Rock and 12/17 in Cincinnati, OH at Cold Blood Fest.

However, the band will join Machine Head, Fear Factory, and Orbit Culture on the 5-week "Slaughter The Martøur Nørth America 2024."

I'd think if they were going to record they'd want it to sound ok. I'd also think if they were going to tour they wouldn't do it with Machinehead and Fat Factory.

Love this band. Gates to Hell is a great name and they deserve this opening slot. Weekend Nacho shreds too. When my mom turns the corner and walks into the basement of my dwelling, she calls it the gates to hell. Usually a cloud of marijuana smoke first catches her senses. Then she gets upset at all the nude pin ups, but whatever, shes a loser, all alone. I have centerfolds she has no one. I've got at least 30 all night gamer friends to choose from a variety of games to play with. She goes to bingo at a church, loser.

Maggot Stomp is the biggest poser label in the scene, f*ck this label and all the bands associated with them.
