Killing Joke guitarist Kevin "Geordie" Walker has died
Killing Joke guitarist Kevin "Geordie" Walker died today in Prague at the age of 64, two days after a massive stroke. Luca Signorelli, a close friend, confirmed the news on Facebook, stating he received a call informing him of Geordie's death a few hours prior.
Signorelli described Geordie as his closest and most important friend, noting Geordie's reputation for being direct and selective in his interactions. Martin Atkins of Killing Joke also confirmed the death on social media with a video post and a Twitter message saying, "#GodBless Geordie Walker."
The band as a whole also released the following statement:
It is with extreme sadness we confirm that at 6:30am on 26th November 2023 in Prague, Killing Joke's legendary guitarist Kevin "Geordie" Walker passed away after suffering a stroke, he was surrounded by family. We are devastated. Rest In Peace brother.
In March the band released a stand alone single, "Full Spectrum Dominance", and are scheduled to perform at Sick New World in las Vegas, NV on April 27, 2024. No word on if Walker's passing will effect the band upcoming live performances.
