Dead Icarus (ft former Atreyu vocalist Alex Varkatzas) sign to MNRK Heavy, unveil first single
Dead Icarus, the latest venture from former Atreyu lead vocalist Alex Varkatzas, has recently inked a worldwide deal with MNRK Heavy. The band has wasted no time in sharing their new single "Sellout," accompanied by a music video. The project was started back in 2021, revealed around the time of Atreyu's eighth studio album Baptize, with Varkatzas expressing interest in starting a "super heavy band." Now, we finally have the result of those efforts.
Varkatzas says:
"I am beyond excited and grateful for DEAD ICARUS to be joining the MNRK Heavy family. MNRK understands my musical vision and has provided me with free reign over all aspects of my musical journey. I cannot wait to share what has been created as a result of this unadulterated trust. This is the most honest, painful, angry, and optimistic music I have ever created. This is my road to redemption and the truth."
Scott Givens, MNRK's SVP of Rock & Metal, added:
"Alex's new project has our whole Heavy team excited. He has put together an incredible project with an amazing group of musicians."
