A Life Once Lost signs w/ Ferret Music

Pennsylvania's A Life Once Lost have officially joined the Ferret Music roster. Formed in 1998, the group has previously released material with Loudnet, Robotic Empire, and, most recently, Deathwish Inc. ALOL recently began writing material for their next full-length, titled "Hunter." The effort will be recorded in January at Trax East studios in New Jersey with Eric Rachel (Every Time I Die, God Forbid) producing. Paul Romano (Mastodon) will handle the layout. Look for the record to hit stores in spring 2005. Additionally, Ferret and Deathwish will re-release the group's latest full-length, "A Great Artist," in 2005 with additional artwork by Jacob Bannon.

xemoryhardcorex 10/5/2004 3:11:28 PM

Weird.

robotplague 10/5/2004 3:15:09 PM

man, these guys used to be a lot more creative....each release they continually go downhill and get more repetitive.

ghetto_paul 10/5/2004 3:15:10 PM

re-releasing an album that came out within the last year seems like overkill to me. good band though

dutchstep 10/5/2004 3:27:37 PM

A Laugh Out Loud.

Moto 10/5/2004 3:30:54 PM

good band, but we'll see what the next album sounds like. i can't get into the last one at all, and the fourth plague, albeit too short, is one of my favorites of all time.

canwestartagain 10/5/2004 3:42:23 PM

should've stayed at deathwish

bru 10/5/2004 3:57:15 PM

i agree that the fourth plague: flies was a better album than a great artist and i hope that they rollback towards this sound with this new album. but i won't go as far to say that a great arist was bad.

Ohhhhh 10/5/2004 4:01:51 PM

you gotta listen to a great artist a lot to get into it. honestly. granted it may not be their best or anything super creative, but it's a good disc if you listen to it a lot more.

PIG_DESTROYER 10/5/2004 4:19:27 PM

each song is a riff (which sounds exactly like the riff from the previous song) for 4 minutes. bad.

Holy shit, Ferret signed a good band.

_and_ 10/5/2004 6:08:05 PM

no, ferret is still doing gay.

theturnon 10/5/2004 6:24:28 PM

Good for them, they deserve getting big because they are very good and they tour a lot

xtroyx 10/5/2004 9:20:18 PM

it's about time ferret did something good. it's been a few years. meshuggah is a great band.

d4n 10/5/2004 9:23:17 PM

alol is great, a great artist was a good cd, and i agree you have to listen to it more to like it, it's heavy, but yeah the fourth plague was their best stuff

Fraulein 10/6/2004 1:37:27 AM

This seems like an unnecessary move. A Great Artist is a great album, but re-releasing it? Who doesn't have it that is going to buy the re-release?

mattmyblood 10/6/2004 9:35:29 AM

Good group of guys that work really hard. They deserve whatever break they get. I think Ferret will shove them down kids throats and I think they've earned it.

DROPDEAD 10/6/2004 10:10:34 AM

being from around philadelphia i've seen these guys live way too much. i hate them. all of their riffs sound the same. hopefully they'll work on that problem on the new cd.

willxcore 10/6/2004 3:42:50 PM

i'm going out on a limb to say ferret has the best current lineup in hardcore right now.

xsamx 10/6/2004 4:37:35 PM

great band.

xtroyx 10/6/2004 6:32:23 PM

sigh. no one got my joke.

xtodayithawx 10/6/2004 10:33:11 PM

i got it...lets hope ferret doesn't utterly ruin such a great band. does anyone else think that open your mouth for the speechless absolutely fcking rules?

ihavegas 10/7/2004 6:10:45 AM

WHAT!!!!!!?!?!?!?!

DROPDEAD 10/7/2004 12:14:47 PM

xtodayithawx: thats about the only album from them i can listen to. a great artist is pretty bad. they suck live too.

mattABR 10/20/2004 4:34:11 PM

i think the ALOL is awesome. A Great Artist is pretty good stuff. Very Meshuggah influenced but i think they do alright with it. sick drummer.

sxecrackhead 3/23/2005 1:22:24 PM

aww...i got your joke troy i actually LOLed ... okay that wasnt funny i try too hard..just like mesh- i mean ALOL.

sxecrackhead 3/23/2005 1:24:29 PM
