UPDATE: Slipknot has revealed a new member via social media.
UPDATE: The post has been removed from the band's social media, leading many to wonder if the group was hacked, though the source with the closest ties to the band, Knotfest, is still reporting; we're waiting on confirmation from further sources and will report as soon as we know. A screenshot has been preserved below.
Slipknot has parted ways with their long-serving sampler and keyboardist, Craig Jones. The band released a short statement on social media wishing Jones the best for his future endeavors.
Known for his spiked gimp mask, Jones had been a member of the group since 1996 and contributed electronic elements to all of Slipknot's albums. Even so, Jones preferred to stay out of the media, so it's unlikely he will comment on his departure from the group.
The band shared:
"To our fans, Slipknot is announcing that we have parted ways with Craig Jones. We wish Jones all the best for the future."
In related news, Slipknot announced earlier today that Shawn "Clown" Crahan will take a break from touring to support his wife's health issues.
