Lost to the Void debut first single in over three years

Lost To The Void

California diverse death metal outfit Lost to the Void just released their first single in over three years, "Idyllic Dissension," off their upcoming album, titled Embrace in Disgust, available everywhere September 1 via Blood Blast Distribution

Lost to the Void has always aimed to never conform themselves to ultra specific sub-genres by mixing influences all over the spectrum of Metal, Hardcore, and Punk. The combination of technicality, groove, and melody leaves a little something everyone can enjoy in the heavy community. This is the last video featuring their late guitarist Colin Gerlach. Who tragically passed away last year.

The upcoming record was written over the pandemic. This song embodies the hypocrisy displayed by the people of our country on every side of political and religious spectrums.

"Idyllic Dissension" is the sort of blast of music that could level a city block with its heaviness, yet enlighten with its profound technicality. There's not a lot left to the imagination as every conceivable layer of the song is action packed. Splashy drums and frenetic bass make the low end nice and full while intense guitar and diversely fierce vocals take over the rest of the track's range. From meaty deathcore to more progressive metal tendencies, Lost to the Void very much have a knack for avoiding simple and shortsighted categorization. The whole thing coalesces into a cataclysmic effort that's complemented well by the apocalyptic images of fire, explosions, and unrest juxtaposed with the band's own coordinated, energetic performances.
