Classic thrash band, Forbidden, has finally confirmed their reunion after dropping a few hints. The band's 2023 lineup features original guitarist Craig Locicero, bassist Matt Camacho, guitarist Steve Smyth (formerly of Testament and Nevermore), and drummer Chris Kontos (formerly of Machine Head and Testament), and vocalist Norman Skinner.
Forbidden is all set to mark their return at Belgium's Alcatraz Metal Festival in August. Initially formed in 1985 under the moniker Forbidden Evil, the band changed its name in 1987 before disbanding in 1997. After a hiatus of a decade, they reunited in 2007 but again parted ways in 2012.

Post CommentNice backdoor announcement that this is now The Forbidden Experience Featuring Not The Singer As The One Original Member
For those who weren't around back then, Forbidden was a quality, third/fourth tier thrash band with terrible lyrics even for that era. Weird how all these bands from back in the day somehow get mythic status in hindsight when they were just...good. Nothing more.
Cause the players gonna Play, play, play, play, play And the haters gonna Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Baby, I'm just gonna Sheet rock, sheet rock
This is the mid life crisis era of metal/hardcore
Their statement even says it's a rebirth or reGIRTH in my mind. NOT a reunion, ya bishhh.
Lol, the singer was the thing that separated the band the most from their thrash peers back in the day.
Forbidden statement: "This is not a reunion, it's a rebirth." Lambshit headline: "Forbidden to reunite in 2023"
Looks like a bunch of dudes in a WWE audience formed a band. Newsflash, metal music is super gay.
Um can we get our pronouns right please ugh
This is fantastic news, guys. Omega Wave is an amazing album and I'm hoping for a killer follow-up.
