Nile recently posted an image of them in the studio recording what could be the follow-up for the band's 2019 Vile Nilotic Rites. The photo posted shows original member Karl Sanders at the helm while the newest member Brian Kingsland records guitars. No word yet on if the material they are working on will be released this year, but the band is trying to wrap up the session prior to leaving for their Vile Nilotic Rites European tour. That tour kicks off in less than two weeks on 04/04.

In 2022 the band announced that bassist Brad Parris and the band would separate on good terms. The current lineup consists of Sanders handling guitars and vocals, George Kollias on drums, and Kingsland who joined the group in 2017 on guitar and vocals. No word on who might replace Parris on the record or if the band will record those parts themselves, currently Julian David Guillen is the band's touring bassist.
