Coheed and Cambria's new album debuts in Top 25 on Billboard 200
The new Coheed and Cambria album, Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind, has debuted at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 chart after moving roughly 19,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release in the United States. Of that total, 15,000 were album sales.
It should be noted that nearly 6,000 box sets of the album were also sold, but not included in the aforementioned tally. As such, Vaxis - Act II would have nearly matched the results of 2018's Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures, which sold around 27,000 copies and landed at No. 14 on the Billboard 200.
Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind debuted at No. 8 on the Top Album Sales chart, No. 8 on the Top Current Album Sales, No. 6 on the Vinyl Albums chart, and No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
Going back further, the band's 2015 album The Color Before the Sun bowed at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of 31,000 in first-week sales. That record ended a six-album streak of Top 10 debuts, starting with 2005's Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, which peaked at No. 7 and has since gone Gold.
