Progressive metalcore outfit Invent Animate recently entered the studio to begin recording their fourth full-length album and follow-up to 2020's Greyview.
Vocal tracking is currently underway in Detroit, Michigan with producer (and The Plot In You frontman) Landon Tewers and a spring release via UNFD seems likely.
Invent Animate had the following to say about the process: "In our more youthful days, recording meant a 5-week intensive of tracking all instruments and vocals and coming out with an album on the other side. More recently we are learning that we operate best when we have some time to try new ideas without the pressure of a due date. We are a band that's about the details, and we like to sit back and reflect on what we’ve done to make sure our connection with it is inspired and emotive. We’ve also learned that having an outside ear during the process helps freshen things up and keeps the creativity flowing, so we’ve been working with @landontours on vocal production. When we get home from Detroit, we'll track additional vocals and guitars ourselves, so we won't have to worry if we're punishing the engineer when we ask to do another take of that pinch harmonic because it wasn't squealy enough."
