Opeth writing new album

Having completed over a year of consistent touring, Opeth is now taking a short break. Guitarist and vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt has begun writing material for Opeth's next album, which they hope to record in early-spring 2005. Less concrete however is Opeth's record label situation. Earlier this month, the group of companies Opeth's record label, Music For Nations, is part of was purchased by BMG. Subsequently, both Music For Nations and Jive UK were shut down by BMG. BMG will reportedly be moving forward with Music For Nations' release schedule, however, Opeth is essentially without a recording contract. We'll keep you posted.
