Iced Earth's Jon Schaffer ordered to remain in jail until trial

Iced Earth guitarist and founder Jon Schaffer, in police custody for the past two months, appeared before a federal judge (via video teleconference) earlier today, March 19. According to Blabbermouth, U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui refused to release the 53-year-old musician and Indiana resident, who is currently in a Washington D.C. jail, as Schaffer awaits trial for six federal charges stemming from his involvement in the early January riot at the U.S. Capitol. Schaffer was arrested in mid-January and remained in an Indiana jail until he was transferred to Washington D.C. during the past week.
