Suicide Silence has their worst first-week sales tally to date
From a sales perspective, it looks as if Suicide Silence's dramatic sonic transformation hasn't exactly paid off. The group's new self-titled album, released on February 24, sold roughly 4,650 copies in its first week of release in the United States.
The showing marks a steep first-week decline compared the band's previous album, You Can't Stop Me (2014), which moved 15,000 copies in its first week. Similarly, Suicide Silence's 2011 effort, The Black Crown and its predecessor, Time To Bleed (2009), both sold 14,000 copies in their respective debut weeks. Even the band's debut LP, The Cleansing, fared significantly better, selling 7,250 copies in its first week.
UPDATE: The new album has debuted at No. 163 on the Billboard 200. You Can't Stop Me bowed at No. 16, while The Black Crown landed at No. 28.
