Suffocation rejoins Relapse Records roster

Influential death metal band Suffocation have officially signed with their former label Relapse Records. Formed in 1990, the group released their debut album with Relapse in 1991 (Relapse's first CD release ever), followed by three albums with Roadrunner Records. Following the departure of drummer Dave Culross in 1998, the group essentially dissolved before reforming earlier this year, with four original members and a new guitarist rounding out the current lineup. The group, who performed at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, will make their only remaining live appearance of 2003 at the Las Vegas Metalfest this weekend, as they will spend much of the fall in the studio working on a new full-length.
