One of extreme music's most distinctive modern acts, Magrudergrind have returned following a 6-year hiatus. The band plays a punishing hybrid of grindcore, powerviolence and hardcore punk. Formed in 2002 in Washington, DC and currently based in Brooklyn, NY, Magrudergrind combines visceral lyrical content with a relentlessly abrasive sonic aesthetic. Owing much to the close-knit global DIY punk community, the band has since toured Europe, Asia, North and South America with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Misery Index, and countless others.
Magrudergrind has teamed up with Relapse Records for the release of their new album, II, on February 12, 2016. Again the album was recorded with engineer Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Nails).
II is a savage manifesto of scathing political and personal revolution and unquestionably Magrudergrind's most crushing and accomplished material to date. II is can be pre-ordered in digital and physical formats. The first single "Sacrificial Hire" is available for streaming via Noisey.

six year hiatus? really? they've played numerous shows and tours since 2010. good thing they wrote new music though because their new drummer can't keep up with chris moore hahahaha

hmmmm kinda disappointed with that track as well. Nowhere near as disgustingly violent as that self-titled sound. We'll see though, I still have hope.
I've loved this band for years but I can't get into this. They sound like every other band with cool hardcore parts and then blast beats. The vocals aren't shrill anymore either. No thanks. I hope the rest of the record is better.
Stoked for new material, but this is definitely not what I anticipated. Sounds like a completely different band.
