Close To Home breaks up, new band launched
Faced with continuing on sans their founding member, Ohio post-hardcore band Close To Home has instead opted to retire their name and move forward as a new band dubbed Actual Villains. Here's the official word:
"The time has come to break the silence and fill you all in on what we've been doing and what we are about to do. Josh Wells started Close To Home 10 years ago with his brother and we've seen a lot of changes since then. We grew together, created something we were proud of, toured all over the world and lost loved ones along the way. CTH has always been more than just a band. Our band mates, our friends & fans truly have been our family for the last decade. Our founding member Josh had decided to leave the band earlier this year. There is no bad blood between any of the members. He has simply had enough of the music industry and decided to put his focus into other endeavors and we fully support him. "That being said... We are sad to announce that without Josh we don't feel right about carrying on the name Close To Home any longer. The remaining members will continue forward as a new band called 'Actual Villains' (^v) and we just released our first teaser clip here! => Actual Villains "As a band, we have kind of been stuck in a weird place for a while. Dealing with Josh leaving and searching for a new Management company and record Label. We set out to self finance a new record and it's mostly finished. We've been waiting to release the new songs until we had officially decided on the name for the new band. We will be releasing more clips and our first single any day now so make sure to 'LIKE' our new page! "No words will begin to describe how thankful we are for you guys for everything you have done for us. It has been a wild ride and we are some of the luckiest guys in the world to have been able to share our music with you all."
