Tool, Mastodon members team up in new supergroup

Danny Carey and Brent Hinds of The Legend of the Seagullmen Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds has teamed up with Tool drummer Danny Carey to participate in The Legend of the Seagullmen, a nautical themed supergroup of sorts that also features Dimitri Coats (OFF!), with further input from director Jimmy Hawyard (Jonah Hex). Two songs from the Seagullmen — "The Deep-Sea Diver" and "Ships Wreck" — have been released through the band's website and are streaming below.

I remember getting to hang out with Danny Carey after a Tool concert as their merch guy was my friend's brother. Really laid back dude and doesn't have an ounce of "celebrity douche" in him. He's truly in it for the jams.
