Swiss surrealist artist H.R. Giger passed away on Tuesday. He was 74. Most notable for concocting the creature in Ridley Scott's 1979 horror film "Alien," Giger is also known for creating a handful of iconic record cover designs. Relevant to metal fans, his designs appeared on Carcass classic, Heartwork, and Celtic Frost's To Mega Therion, among many others.
Carcass had the following to say earlier today: "Sorry to hear of H.R. Gigers' passing. Thank you for everything."
