Blkheart Group shuts down

Blkheart Group, a California record label formed two years ago, has apparently folded. No official announcement has been made, but the label's Facebook, Twitter, and website have all disappeared. Blkheart's roster included bands such as Molotov Solution, The World We Knew, and Elitist. Said bands have yet to comment, but The World We Knew is currently demoing new material and searching for a label home. On a personal note, we dealt with Blkheart fairly often during their existence and they were always professional. We obviously can't speak for their bands, but we're sad to see them go.
UPDATE: Blkheart co-founder Jason Mageau has sent Lambgoat the following statement:
"Without getting too detailed as I can not legally disclose too much information due to the split in partnerships that took place. "What I can say is that it is sad, unfortunate and true that Blkheart has closed its doors. I was only 1/3 of a partnership in the company so this decision was not mine and I wish things would have ended differently for alot of reasons. I am proud of what we did in a two year time span, we made some mistakes and maybe a few people out there hate us or love us, but in the end we took an idea and made it our reality even if it was short lived, we learned from mistakes and accomplished our internal goals. We worked with bands that we personally loved and gave them a shot when others said no, and we stood behind our bands until the end. "The positive side is that this is not the end for me and a few others who worked at Blkheart. We all manage bands some that were signed to Blkheart and others who are not, and they live on through it all, that's the good news, companies come and go but music lives forever. We started this company as managers, wanting to better facilitate albums for our own bands when others would not give them the time of day, and we made a few bands much more respected and that was our goal in the end. Of course income and company stability also factor into the equation, we were still new and small and growing daily, most times spending more than we would make, spending our own personal money at times which never mattered to me anyways, I did what had to be done. We went from our bed room / couch offices into 2 spacious offices in downtown Long Beach Ca in a short amount of time, but it is not cheap and in the end money rules the world and for the other partners involved, that was a primary focus as it should be. For me, I just liked to see our albums in stores like Hot Topic, ads in magazines, bands on tour and all the fun stuff that's associated with it. "I just want to thank anyone who ever gave any of the Blkheart releases or bands we worked with a chance, including those in the industry who gave me a chance. I made some friends, and some enemies I am sure, but life goes on. For myself, Ian, Andrew, Nelson and my wife Kelly who worked for Blkheart, music is our lives and we are not done. "Stay tuned..."

This should happen to victory records.

That's sad man. I'm sure Molotov Solution and Elitist won't have a problem finding new record labels, but that sure is a bump in the road. I'm not surprised though, they were having crazy sales of their catalog, such as 8 cds on sale for 20 bucks.

Wow this really sucks fo Molotov and the guys! Hope they dont have too much trouble finding another label.

this sucks. Jason had a great start to what he was creating with a lot of buzz going for it for a while. very professional business with a lot of care for the bands, who all luckily found a good spot to run with for a while. i guess the money wasn't there to get it kicking off. i was always able to see the bands' cd's in stores, its probably that none of the bands got big enough tours. RIP BlkHeart...

thats what happens when you sign every band noone cares about.
