Misery Signals to record new album in early-2012

Fans of Misery Signals know that the group hasn't released a new album in several years. Said fans shouldn't have to wait too much longer though, as the group is currently working on material for their next full-length. The other day we posted a news "bit" stating that the band had begun demoing new material. Based upon the feedback we received, there is still clearly a lot of interest in Misery Signals. Being the diligent [fake] journalists that we are, we reached out to the Misery Signals camp for more details. Fortunately, we were able to touch base with frontman Karl Schubach this morning and he stated that the band has roughly developed several songs thus far, with plans to "really buckle down in these next few months and commit ourselves to this new record." Misery Signals tentatively plans to enter the studio in early-2012 to commence tracking, though neither a studio nor producer have been selected thus far. Notably, this will be the band's final album under their current contract with Ferret Music. When asked about the direction of the new material, Schubach had the following to say: "I think every band aims to progress with each album they write. But sometimes progression is learning what worked really well the previous records and incorporating those elements. So far these new songs feel like a purposeful blend of our most recent, more structured Controller record mixed with the chaos and spontaneity of the earlier Of Malice and the Magnum Heart."
