Metallica taps Baroness for Australia tour

We're not sure whom Baroness has impressed enough to score these opening slots, but weeks after being tapped for a Deftones tour in the U.S., none other than Metallica has recruited Baroness to accompany them and Lamb Of God on an already-sold-out tour of Australia this fall. So happy to hear this. Despite Metallica's abundance of shitty albums over the last few years; they have really been helping out these smaller bands and paying their dues.

Baroness got picked up by Metallica's management company (Q Prime) about a month ago. So it's not that far a stretch they got this tour. Awesome band and awesome guys. They deserve it.

Metallica plays overseas and in South America with Mastodon. Several months later, thinks it would be cool to head out with Mastodon lite.

stooooopid 7/8/2010 3:36:06 PM

Baroness isn't THAT good. Talk about luck...

YouGotScanned 7/8/2010 4:39:54 PM

fck YEAH for them. Blue Record is one of the best metal albums I have heard in years and years.

Kefka 7/8/2010 5:19:31 PM

It's always weird when you see a band play in a coffee shop that holds 30 people and then they tour with Metallica.

edgegein 7/8/2010 7:25:47 PM

Depeche Mode should be on this.

Would be cool if it was 1986 Metallica taking 2004 Baroness on the road.

RickRock 7/9/2010 7:47:51 AM
