Relapse Records signs Black Anvil
Official press release: Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of New York's Black Anvil. Black Anvil formed in 2007 and are currently writing for their second full-length album. Relapse will first issue the band's debut LP, Time Insults The Mind, this fall as they continue writing. Audio samples taken from Time Insults The Mind can be heard now via the band's MySpace page. Black Anvil's Delaney commented on the signing and new material: "Relapse's interest in us and our respect for them proves none of that style shit should matter. We're here to bring a malicious record to the table for you all. We currently have four songs demoed and they're so dangerous sounding." Black Anvil will perform this weekend as part of the Pitchfork Media presents "Show No Mercy" monthly metal series in Brooklyn (flyer) with Virginia's Salome, Philadelphia's Woe and Snake Sustaine. Black Anvil has another Brooklyn show lined up for July with more regional dates to be announced soon.
