Genghis Tron announces remix series

Official press release: Genghis Tron is proud to announce the details of a very special, five-volume Board Up The House remix series. Beginning in August and continuing through the rest of 2008, Genghis Tron will be releasing five 12" remix records on five different record labels (Temporary Residence Ltd., Lovepump United, Relapse Records, Anticon Records, and Crucial Blast Records respectively). Each volume will be limited to 1,000, pressed on colored vinyl. Board Up The House cover artist, Jon Beasley, will also be providing each remix album with alternative artwork. Each record will feature a select number of Genghis Tron songs taken from Board Up The House, remixed by a variety of artists. Some of the participating artists include Black Moth Super Rainbow, Ulver, Dntel, Telefon Tel Aviv, Steve Moore, Jesu/Justin Broadrick, Danny Lohner, Rob Crow, Subtle, Odd Nosdam, Circle, Tim Hecker, and many more to be announced soon. Genghis Tron commented on the series: "We are very excited to announce a series of special Genghis Tron releases which we've been scheming for quite some time now. Those who have been following us for a while know that we've always been interested in remixes, but to date we've only released a few GT remixes on a few tour-only CDs. We've wanted to do something grander and more 'official' for a long time, so we're proud to say that we've finally assembled a very massive, very official remix project. We reached out to lots of musicians who we admire and overall we've been completely overwhelmed at their willingness to participate in this massive, awesome project. More importantly, the remixes are sounding pretty mind-blowing so far...we're excited to share them with you." Each release will be available for pre-order for roughly a month prior to its release. Temporary Residence Limited is slated to release volume one of the series in September, with pre-order beginning in July. Further information, including preview tracks, artwork, pre-order options, and more will be announced over the coming months.

Oprah_Winfrey 6/2/2008 11:40:27 AM

They stripped me naked had me lift my ballsack up so they could check underneath it, and then had me bend over and spread my asscheeks apart so they could look inside my jerk.

Brett_ 6/2/2008 11:43:29 AM

sunk 6/2/2008 12:36:18 PM

wow, what a waste of money- look, everyone loves to squeeze a few pennies out of a cheap remix album (countless bands & labels have done it). but the cost of pressing five different remix albums through five different labels? what a great idea!

lordofthefuckingrim 6/2/2008 12:38:21 PM

this is an even stupider idea than the isis remixes. way to waste our time and precious color vinyl stock that could be used for other releases

demonsareinnocent 6/2/2008 12:49:18 PM

i won't pay for this but i will download i and enjoy it greatly.

xnotsoedgex 6/2/2008 5:21:15 PM

this will be 100% shit...though the remixes can't be any worse than the actual album versions. one of my biggest disappointments of the year...

johnwesleyharding 6/2/2008 8:30:06 PM

The only thing cooler than this would be original songs by a different band

kenny 6/2/2008 9:18:47 PM

remix flip

Tim_Diesel 6/2/2008 9:19:39 PM

How the hell?

thebigredmachine 6/2/2008 10:25:42 PM

"...remixes are sounding pretty mindblowing so far..." = they sound NOTHING like the original songs

YouGotScanned 6/3/2008 4:40:38 AM

Genghis Tron is good. fck the rest of you. Their live show conquers now - light show is sick. There's a lot of cool people doing these remixes - they're going to rule. None of you people have any taste.

riverrunsred 6/3/2008 6:56:56 AM

I though P. Diddy invented the Remix?!?

cydrx 6/4/2008 4:32:27 PM

wtf anitcon., that should be triiped., might check it out for that one

paradigm 6/5/2008 1:29:43 AM

love the fck out of Cloak of Love & Dead Mountain Mouth, but new cd is pretty meh.this seems excessive.
