There was a massive denim surplus happening in the country. The big companies had more denim than they knew what to do with. Big Denim conspired to create another company to offload that surplus as quickly as possible without compromising their brand image. They decided that creating a new type of jean that was too long, too baggy, and overall stupid looking was the most effective way to accomplish their goal. Thus, the JNCO was born.
