All That Remains should never have been a band because the song is better than everything that band did. +1

Also back on IVth Crusade, Through The Ages is the perfect closing track for the album.

also as far as the first song, I've never read any books or articles about the influence but it honestly sounds like it was written from the perspective of a citizen of either the (escapes my mind) first christian city, or Constantinople, that was sacked by greedy crusaders (like 15-20% of existing art from antiquity was lost in that single occurrence). thats top flight if it is what it seems like it is.

i always wish that was the time i was actively going to shows when death metal or extreme thrash etc started becoming a thing; like thinking Metallica or Slayer was the heaviest band and then hearing Destruction, and then hearing Death, or something like In Battle There Is No Law, Napalm anything in that early to late 80's time frame, it must've been pretty crazy there's now this style of music thats just overly distorted, f*cking brutally fast, the vocals are literally unhuman
I feel yah on this. Like listening and seeing just Metallica and biggerish metal bands in the lateish 80s and then bands like napalm death/ bolt thrower/cannibal corpse /death coming out and changing everything .That would be wild and cool to have experienced in actually time. Let's get a time machine

One of the heaviest and best live bands I've seen. Saw them in Birmingham UK years ago.
