We have neither the budget nor the imagination of BBC Radio, so we've borrowed from their Desert Island Discs program to bring you our own scaled down version, dubbed Six Songs To Die With. We ask a noteworthy musical guest to select the six songs they'd be stranded with on an obligatory desert island. Hypothetically, said guest will be dying on this island, so they've been advised to choose wisely. Selections appear in no particular order.
You might hate him. You might love him. Either way, you've probably heard of him. He is Chris Fronzak (aka Fronz or Fronzilla), frontman and co-founder of Atlanta, Georgia deathcore/metalcore outfit Attila. And while the band has proven successful in its own right (their latest album sold over 14,000 in its debut week), Fronzak has cultivated his own identity and now commands his own personal fanbase. His "Suck My Fuck"-titled Twitter account has nearly 100,000 followers, and his Stay Sick clothing line has been gaining steam. And if his haters could in fact banish him to a desert island, these are the Six Songs he'd have with him.
Tears For Fears
"Head over Heels"
Chris Fronzak: This song has always been my favorite song for as long as I can remember. No matter how many times this song gets played, it never gets old, thus making it the perfect song to die with. It's epic as fuck and makes me feel good inside. It would also be fun to sing along to as I rot on some tropical island.
The Warriors
"Slings & Arrows"
Chris Fronzak: War is Hell by the Warriors is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Whenever I hear this song, it instantly triggers memories of being 14 and packing into an old shitty car with 5 other friends and heading down I-85 to catch hardcore shows in downtown Atlanta. We would listen to the Warriors and just scream along and shake the car, haha. Those were times that helped influence who I am today and I'll never forget.
Deftones
"Change"
Chris Fronzak: I'm a huge Deftones fan, so picking one song was tough. I chose "Change" because I love the melody in the chorus and the vibes that the song gives me. Deftones music is the perfect mix of power and melody, and they will always be legendary in my eyes.
Naked Eyes
"Always Something There To Remind Me"
Chris Fronzak: I remember listening to this song the first time I flew on a plane alone. I was probably only 8 years old. It's another song with childhood memories attached to it. Plus, I just really love 80's music. It's good for any occasion, so it's the perfect song to keep for a lifetime!
Slipknot
"Psychosocial"
Chris Fronzak: It was extremely hard to decide which Slipknot song to pick, but I decided to go with one of their newer singles- "Psychosocial." This is, in my opinion, the heaviest song in existence. In the event that I find some fermented coconut alcohol to drink, I'm gonna need a good drinking song. This one would be perfect, and I don't think I could ever get tired of this song.
Frank Ocean
"Pyramids"
Chris Fronzak: It's no secret that Attila's favorite album is Channel Orange by Frank Ocean. The entire album is perfect from front to back. It's very easy to listen to and it covers a range of different moods. I particularly like the song "Pyramids." At first listen, it appears as if the song is about a beautiful Egyptian goddess, but in reality it's about a stripper that works at a strip club called the "Pyramid." It's brilliant.

The only good things in this list is Deftones and slipknot.

For those of you arguing about the list this list is made up of the best musicians of the genre this is a perfect list. Regardless of whether you like to music or not. Second of all Attila had a put out 4 albums before they were even noticed by the scene. Rage is literally one was creatively written heavy albums of all time you cannot argue the musicianship regardless what you think about the new music. Period.
