Alanis Morissette

Earlier this week I listened to alanis morissette perform live on the Howard Stern show. I don't care what anybody says about her, she is definitely talented. Her talking voice is too low, but she can sing quite nicely. I'll bet she's in therapy though because her first album sold like 20 million copies while her subsequent releases haven't gotten even close. She likely feels inadequate.

Anyway, a few years ago i was in Boulder, CO just off Pearl Street in some little shop. I was with two friends who were in the front of the store while i was in the back corner looking at postcards. Just as i finished looking and started to walk back towards the front this lady came back and i had to move over so she could get through. And damn if she didn't look exactly like Alanis Morissette. Our eyes locked and I just stared at her for a moment, then kept on walking. When i got to the front of the store i whispered to one of my friends - "hey, isn't that Alanis Morissette back there?" He looked at her then said something like "no, that girl's too short." I shrugged my shoulders and we walked out. When we got home we were talking about it and my other friend called down to the shop, since he used to work there and knew the employees, and what do you know, it was Alanis. They got her autograph and stuff. So this dude runs out the place back down to Pearl Street in a quest to find Alanis. He stops in Urban Outfitters 10 minutes later and finds her looking at pants or something. He asks to take a photo with her but she declines, saying she isn't taking pictures today. He gets her autograph though and tells her she's even more beautiful in person, haha. Anyway, he didn't end up having sex with her.

Why did I just tell this story? I have no idea.
