Post CommentRemarkable effort from one of the most creative groups out there. Definitely not for everyone, but for those who can appreciate the style, a one-of-a-kind record. Great review.
Ash, do you ever actually listen to anything remotely upbeat, well-structured and competently produced? I'm beginning to think you don't actually like music at all. Random Factory Noises = 10/10!!!
I listen to nothing but Robotic Empire and Neurot. And with this, i shall live in gloom, doom, and ambient noise for the rest of my miserable life.
Reviewer wins for referencing Angelo Badalamenti and Lynch's "Lost Highway." Kayo Dot = good...
ehh, kayo dot is decent, but alongside everything else being released this year, dowsing anemone is nothing i'll find myself masturbating to.
if this album is a 9/10, then i must be missing something. also that would make choirs of the eye a 12/10. along with the new mogwai.
Arrogant review is right. Overrated band, overrated album, etc etc etc. Just because a band incorporates 32059 different styles doesn't make them 9/10 worthy.
it's yet to attach itself like Choirs of the Eye...maybe a little too out there for my preference. as someone mentioned, I'll take new mogwai over this any day of the week.
Why do bands of this general style insist on using such f*cking stupid album names? The music itself sounds interesting, but I think my attention span can only deal with 15 minutes songs for so long. I feel like if I listen to this all I'll hear in a song is 10 minutes of random noises and 5 minutes (at most) of actual song.
more guys in the band than songs on the cd? no thanks
These comments really crack me up. Particularly Cory's!
hahaah willxcore you only lurk on the news page i see thats what you get for being such a huge gay that youre not even wanted the board you f*ck
this band/album is amazing. i got to see maudlin of the well once and it was amazing too. i need to see kayo dot live.
i hope that when i here this i am not bitterly disappointed
have a wank and listen to kayo dot and times of orchids, a good night in
I love this band, but this review is having a hard time. The album is in no way impossible to describe. Don't spend two paragraphs telling me you can't describe something!
this album only has 5 songs is it really worth buying
*completly uninterested, wonders when this genre will die*
George Bush doesn't care about Black people playing brass instruments in an amazing band, but you should.
my band is better than this trash http://myspace.com/bleedingessence
Amazing Band and album check out my review at: http://www.myspace.com/panopticmedialtd
This review: "I lack the imagination or writing chops to describe the music. Just listen to it OK? It's super!"
this band has their own sound. for that they demand respect.
incredibly original and incredible talent. Definitely deserves your respect.
This album is horrid. Most pretentious group on the face of the planet.
Lambgoat really needs to stop sucking the dcks of every pretentious band that can't push current genres and built grounds so they try to build a feeble senseless one of their own. It's just like all of those pretentious movies, Donnie Darko, Requiem For a Dream, etc. Granted, I like both of those movies. But there are some aspects that just can't be explained. And while we all think they may be beyond us, so being into it will make us more intelligent, we are wrong. It is not beyond us, it is n
my band is better than this trash http://myspace.com/bleedingessence posted by bleedE () on 1/19/2006 4:53:06 PM attn: Your band is the most clichéd AIDS ridden garbage ever. Newsflash: learn how to scream, stop ripping off bands that are ripoffs of other ripoffs, get out of high school, lose some weight and stop wearing your sisters jeans. f*cking Scenebot child. Kayo dot is something called inventive. Look it up
Definitly Overratted review, i liked it for about 2 min on the intro song, way too long, not enough happening, good for ambeint shit maybe? This isnt even metal, f*ckin pussies
this is a great review of 'choirs of the eye,' but applied to 'dowsing...' it's hagiography. a disappointing set of samey material further handicapped by muddy production and a few truly cringeworthy performances. a shame -- 'choirs' is in my top 10 of all time, but this record lacks a lot of what made the first one so great.
listen to "Aura on an Asylum Wall" and tell me that this shit isn't brilliant
it took a while to fully absorb. but im really starting to like this album
