New York City's Candiria is set to release the first and second portions of their four volume collection of rarities and remixes. Titled "Toying With The Insanities," volumes 1 and 2 will hit streets on September 9th. The material will be available digitally on iTunes (in addition to most online outlets) in addition to a limited pressing of CDs and LPs (volume 1, 1000 CDs / volume 2, 300 LPs). Guitarist John Lamacchia is putting the release out through his Brooklyn based label, Rising Pulse Records.
The remixed tracks will be from the band's first three records ("The Process of Self Development," "Beyond Reasonable Doubt," "Surrealistic Madness"). As previously noted, contributions on the remixes come from acts such as Dalek, Dub Trio, Ghosts of the Canal, Kayo Dot, members of Dillinger Escape Plan, Fishbone, Peeping Tom and more.
Meanwhile, Candiria has also been working on new material as of late. Some of the new songs will likely appear on volumes 3 and 4, which is expected to surface in early-2010. Currently, Candiria consists of Carley Coma, Mike MacIvor, and John Lamacchia. And although drummer Kenneth Schalk left the group in 2006 and subsequently moved to the West Coast, he did contribute to at least two of the remix tracks on volume 1 and will also be drumming on the band's new tracks.

| SunnyvaleTrash | 6/30/2009 2:51:16 PM | | | Was Lamacchia the cr00sh guitarists,or the dude that left and it started to go downhill? | |
| MarginError | 6/30/2009 2:55:40 PM | | | Yes, he was in the earlier (and more widely accepted) form of the band. | |
| fuckyourxs | 6/30/2009 3:27:37 PM | | | Yeah, but Eric was always the constant. He wrote Beyond Reasonable Doubt and Surrealistic Madness but gets very little of the cred. Guy is responsible for their sound. | |
| DaveClinch | 6/30/2009 3:29:05 PM | | | Maybe with these remix/rarities we can clutch hope that the new material will be nothing like Kiss the Guy. | |
| ipecac | 6/30/2009 3:59:35 PM | | | "toying with the insanities" just screams nu metal | |
| xenosapien | 6/30/2009 4:01:36 PM | | | The first 3 are the best 3 so this will be good. Psyched for new stuff but Kiss the Lie was a little disappointing... | |
| MarginError | 6/30/2009 4:46:04 PM | | | *very disappointing. Just like What Doesn't Kill.... | |
| Flamboyant_Cowboy | 6/30/2009 5:18:58 PM | | | I guess you can do anything when your band gets like a 30 million dollar settlement. | |
| anaturaldisaster | 6/30/2009 6:35:50 PM | | | Toying With the Insanities is a song from their first album, which was far from nu metal. I'm glad to see that Ken is playing on the new stuff, but a tour at some point would still be nice. | |
| notransfer | 6/30/2009 6:57:11 PM | | | kiss the lie was a major disappointment...but i still hold a lot of root based faith in this band | |
| ion_stasi | 6/30/2009 6:57:23 PM | | | I'm very interested in hearing this. Much respect for Candiria pre-WDKY (even though the production is great on that one) | |
| moshyurface | 6/30/2009 7:01:14 PM | | | one of the most original bands in the mix. can't wait for the remixes. trying to find the old stuff is impossible | |
| brains_ | 6/30/2009 9:47:42 PM | | | still love this band. kiss the lie should have stayed lost though. | |
| twat_waffle | 6/30/2009 9:53:09 PM | | | Ken Schalk is fucking amazing! | |
| wiseoldman | 7/1/2009 7:31:58 PM | | | love Candiria since 2000 but they are not Candiria without Kenneth Fucking Shreds. | |
