BIOGRAPHICAL DATA: Starting out as a dual vocalist band, Florida's Poison The Well began under the name, An Acre Lost. With the band's goal of creating emotional and heavy music, the unit wrote material that eventually showed up on a split 12" with Promise No Tomorrow on OHEV Records (The Rocking Horse Winner, The August Prophecy). Following the release, Poison the Well would re-record four tracks, and add a new song to its CDEP, "Distance Only Makes the Heart Grow Fonder," for Good Life Recordings. After several tours, the band would hit the recording studio once again. At this point, Poison The Well would recruit and turn into a one-singer band, while being picked up by Trustkill Records (Harvest,Nora), and "The Opposite of December" would be released in early-1999. The band would then embark on more tours, and its fanbase would explode, as Poison the Well would lead the new strain of hardcore that combined melody and singing. Recently, Undecided Records re-released the "Distance..." CDEP with new packaging and several live tracks. Although the band has gone through several line-up changes, it has toured around the country with numerous hardcore stalwarts, and has just released a new full-length, "Tear From the Red," on Trustkill.
